Zoey was adopted from the local humane society in the spring of 07 after I found out she had been there since she was 6 mo. I just could not put her back in the cage. She needed to have some place she could run and play and just be a dog. I wish I could have taken more.

Australian Shepherd

Intelligent and very alert, the Australian Shepherd gives complete devotion to his owner. All he asks in return is the chance to work. He was bred to herd livestock, and is serious and single-minded about his job. The Australian Shepherd is an intelligent working dog of strong herding and guarding instincts. He is a loyal companion and has the stamina to work all day. He is well balanced, slightly longer than tall, of medium size and bone, with coloring that offers variety and individuality. He is attentive and animated, lithe and agile, solid and muscular without cloddiness. He has a coat of moderate length and coarseness. He has a docked or natural bobbed tail. The Australian Shepherd is an active dog who requires regular exercise. He is good natured and even tempered, although he may be initially shy with strangers. He makes a loyal companion.
